How do I calculate brick quantity?
Brick count = (Wall area ÷ (Brick area + Mortar area)). Add 5-10% for waste and cuts.
What are standard brick dimensions?
Standard modular brick: 7.625″ x 2.25″ x 3.625″. With 0.375″ mortar joint, this becomes 8″ x 2.625″.
How much mortar do I need?
Approximately 0.022 cubic yards of mortar per 100 bricks. Add 10% for waste.
What about openings in the wall?
Subtract the area of doors/windows from total wall area before calculating brick quantity.
How do I account for different brick patterns?
Running bond is most efficient. Herringbone or other patterns may require 10-15% more bricks.
